The Ponte Vecchio is the oldest bridge in Florence. It was originally a market but in the 16th century, Cosimo I declared it to sell only gold. He lived nearby and did not like the smell of the rotting food.
"The sky and river are done with my fingers. The buildings are painted by brush with a wash of blue in the river and yellow in the street lamp. My challenge was to capture evening shadows along with the silence of the night." -Cherie
