"This painting was a request by the Rocky Mountain Italian American Chamber of Commerce. It was used in their inaugural poster. I tried to capture all nuances of Italy; Tuscany, Florence (image of David in the wine bottle) and Rome (image of the coliseum in the plate). And of course, the wine which is really all I need to paint to taste Italy! My challenge was to paint tricks into the objects which add to an otherwise standard still life." -Cherie
